For more details of our services, such as Footgolf and Golf membership, please contact staff to book on 01977 512835.

What is footgolf?

Footgolf at Whitwood is a brilliant combination of the best of golf and the best of football. It’s a great fun day out in Castleford for family and friends to play together and you don’t need any special equipment to get involved – just come along and play!

At Whitwood we have created a fantastic 9-hole course that combines woodland, bridges and open green space. The aim of the game is to kick the football into the cup on each green in as few shots as possible.

Who can play?

The game is suitable for those aged 6 and over. Families and groups of friends enjoy playing footgolf together. You can have up to five in a team and to play nine holes will take about one hour. Players under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged over 18 (who can just watch if they don’t want to play).

What should I wear?

You can wear whatever you like – no special kit is required to play footgolf at Whitwood. Please note, we don’t allow spikes or studs on the turf, so please just wear trainers or similar.

Can we get refreshments afterwards?

You are welcome to celebrate your game in our clubhouse afterwards, where we serve soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks.

Do you cater for children’s birthday parties or group bookings?

We welcome all groups and party bookings and have several options available for both children’s birthday parties and large groups of individuals. We also have the facilities available to hold sports group's presentation events. For more information contact the club directly on 01977 512835.
