Paul played and practiced his way to a handicap of scratch by the
tender age of 16, then eventually playing off 1 (plus 1).
He then took a Golf Scholarship at De Montfort University Lincoln where he achieved HND status in Golf and Leisure Management and a First Class honours degree in Leisure Management.
Paul then spent two years working at Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Club,
in Southern Ireland, which hosted the last two Irish Opens and ranks in
the top 5 listing of 5 star golf resorts in the world. Upon returning to
England Paul turned Pro on his 21st birthday (this wasn’t last year
regardless of what he says!) where he embarked on a happy five year
spell as Assistant Pro at Garforth Golf Club.
Paul then moved to the North East into his first Head Pro’s position. After Five Years in the North East,
he returned to Yorkshire. Paul is now looking ahead to the many exciting challenges that lie ahead at Whitwood Golf Club. Paul loves, supporting and attending many functions and events,
coaching and guiding his numerous golfing students, and interacting
with the members whilst always maintaining his fun-loving friendly
manner which seems to make members and visitors-alike warm to him.
Whilst being an excellent golfer in his own right, Paul also has an
excellent reputation as an outstanding teaching professional and has
become highly sought-after for his coaching abilities. This constantly
has him working with golfers of every level, from fellow professionals
and top level amateurs, right down to new beginners and juniors.
